Another Start-up? Chocolate and Vitamins? So innovative! Disruptive! Finally … yet, do I have imposter syndrome?

It was a non-stop uplifting RUSH!
Melanie and I are launching another NEW brand and 10 products that really are FIRST to market.. again : The Better Chocolate
Our Mission this time is to get the word out that Chocolate CAN BE HEALTHY!
Actually it always WAS! Until we messed it all up by adding evil sugar, lots of processing steps and bad fats. My book will talk about all that!
So I’m launching a brand that is Bean-to-Bar made with love in a small craft factory in Ecuador: no alkali, no processing with chemicals, no added natural flavours…nada!
Pure cacao and cacao butter, MCT oil, fibre and a tiny bit of natural sweeteners and LOTS of vitamins and protein.
So yes, we’re back to bootstrapping and slugging it out there with a SECOND start up (yes at age 56).
Yes, pouring our savings and our hearts and energy and pounding the floors! Next we start going store to store to store to store to drop displays and passive sampling kits!
For two straight days, we heard the “wow”, “really!” “amazing” and so many “finally!” and “thank you”’s !
Then the delight when they take a bite! Unreal pure dark chocolate outside- with a nice snap - and creamy milk chocolate inside.
You would think if I’m hearing this again and again - that I wouldn’t have what we call Imposter Syndrome.
Pinch me as some days I have doubt. I’m scared. Am I really doing this again? From the ground up?
I just get up, put on my Smiley-Suzie smile and forge ahead.
I meet all these other accomplished entrepreneurs and incredible people I admire…and my self-doubt creeps in....🥹🥹
Yet shows like this are pure adrenaline and endorphin hits, as I’m reminded that :
- YES I am!!
- YES we are!!
- YES indeed no one has done this yet ...!!
- YES indeed, this is incredibly disruptive and innovative.
- so NO.. I'm not impostor.. not here by luck.. this is real! Again!
Day after Day, I will be getting the word out that Healthy and Chocolate can now again co-exist!
